Rainbows

21st Rossendale Rainbows meet for an hour each week (on Mondays) at Haslingden Baptist.
Any girl aged five to seven can become a Rainbow before moving onto Brownies after their seventh birthday.
Rainbows make a simple promise “I promise that I will do my best to love my God and to be kind and helpful.”
The Rainbows' programme is called the Rainbow Jigsaw and it has four areas to give it balance and variety. Each activity a Rainbow does is based on one or more of these areas.

The Rainbow Jigsaw

Rainbows Look
This area allows Rainbows to begin to understand that they are part of a wider world.
Rainbows Learn

Rainbows learn all the time, both in guiding and in their daily lives.   A Rainbow learns by doing activities at her meetings. Being a Rainbow should be fun and not at all like school.

Rainbows Laugh

This area of the Rainbow Jigsaw encourages games, songs, parties, celebrations, making a mess and enjoying life.
Rainbows Love

This area is at the heart of the Rainbow Jigsaw. A girl is beginning to understand the concept of ‘love’ when she joins Rainbows through her experiences of caring and sharing with family and friends, and being kind to others.

At Haslingden Baptist we have lots of fun and do many different things. This term we are working towards achieving the Festivals roundabout so that we can get a badge for our uniform! For our badge, we have made fans as well as decorating Chinese lanterns and eating pancakes!

We currently have a number of spaces for girls aged 5 and 6 and operate a waiting list system for younger girls.  For more information contact Caroline Cox on 01254 56931 or email rainbows@haslingdenbaptist.co.uk
